Goals
The Pakistan Fellows Program is designed to identify, train, and connect this next generation of leaders for Pakistan and for the world.
Description
The Pakistan Fellows Program is designed to develop the Fellows’ leadership skills and strengthen the project that they are driving. The year-long program begins in January 2013 and is comprised of four multiday seminars which will give Fellows access to world-class speakers, trainers, and mentors who allow Fellows to deepen their understanding of social change and innovation. The program also includes two collaborative projects where Fellows work together to design and execute a regional trip and an innovation conference. See below for more details about each piece of the curriculum.
Seminar 1: The Foundation
The first seminar creates the foundation for the year long program, and emphasizes group development, critical thinking, and strategic analysis frameworks.
Seminar 2: Moral Imagination
This seminar focuses on leadership development through collaborative learning, peer consultation, and deep reflection.
Regional Trip
The purpose of the regional trip is to provide Fellows with the opportunity to learn about new models of social change and innovation emerging within Pakistan, and also give back to the Pakistani community. The Fellows must work as a team to determine the location and make all other decisions related to the trip.
Seminar 3: Financial Skills
This seminar is dedicated to honing Fellows’ financial management skills and covers topics like raising capital, navigating financial systems, managing cash flow, as well as an interactive financial simulation.
Seminar 4: Operational Abilities
The final seminar addresses operational issues and Fellows are introduced to applications of design thinking and other problem-solving frameworks for social innovation.
Innovation Conference
The year long program culminates in an innovation conference, which is designed and implemented by the Fellows. The innovation conference is meant to be a chance for Fellows to put into practice the skills they’ve learned over the course of the year, as well as provide a platform to showcase their social change initiatives to a larger community of leaders.
Deadline
The online application process for the 2013 Class of Pakistan Fellows is now open until 11:59pm PST (Pakistan Standard Time), 28th September 2012.
